Unlimited Online Movie Rentals: a Joke!

With the advent of online movie rentals, millions of net users are signing up for the service. This concept was invented by NetFlix way back in 1999. The pioneers are still the leaders but are facing tough competition today in the form of IntelliFlex and BlockBuster. All the sites, today, claim free shipping, unlimited number of online movie rentals in a month, a large collection of the latest movies and no time limit for keeping the movies.

However, these newcomers provide video game rentals whereas NetFlix only specializes in online movie rentals. Additionally, IntelliFlex provides an array of adult online movie rentals attracting those who have a penchant for adult entertainment also.

To fight the 4500 retail stores that BlockBuster has, which it uses for promoting and advertising its online movie rental services, NetFlix has now tied up with Wal-Mart. The veteran is now using Wal-Mart’s brick and mortar presence to augment their efforts for the online movie rental services. In spite of the large presence on the ground, BlockBuster is now likely to find that contending with the innovator is not likely to be cakewalk. They give away two printable coupons per month for in-store game or movie rentals and also design discount schemes and privileged deals.

To combat the leader in the online movie rental industry, BlockBuster offered a rate approximately 3USD cheaper than NetFlix when they launched their service. However, over time they have increased the rates to match those of NetFlix. IntelliFlex still operates at a dollar lower than the other two.

The opportunity to be able to see a large number of the latest movies at rock bottom prices seems like a dream come true. But this dream lasts only for a temporary period for the online movie rental subscriber since the companies realize that sending so many movies in a month would not be profitable for them. The heavy users of NetFlix seem to have realized that they were being throttled. The movies that they asked for were not being sent to them on time. The online movie rental site claimed that they had not received their movies back and so could not send the next lot of three. This seems to be occurring mostly with heavy users of the service since they probably rent more movies in a month than what the site has budgeted per subscription. At the same time the online movie rental sites are not in a position to state that they will restrict the number of movies rented since competition is tough and ‘unlimited’ sounds so much better than a constricting number. Loyal consumers of NetFlix are feeling cheated and blogging heavily on this topic.

Pro -BlockBuster customers claim that this site has been extra kind to their customers and have asked the US postal department to scan the mailers to indicate to them which movies have been sent back. This saves the shipping back time and the next lot of movies or games can be sent as soon as the previous batch of movies has been put in the post.

It remains to be observed as to how long this will last and when BlockBuster realizes that unlimited online movie rentals in a month will only give them a red bottom line. Whether they resort to unethical and surreptitious practices like the pioneers of online movie rentals or are candid and courageous enough to state it upfront is a matter of speculation.

Internet Movie Rentals – The Truth About Internet Movie Rentals is Finally Exposed

Everyone loves to watch movies, I am sure you do to. Whether it is a classic or a new popcorn flick, the choices are endless. Watching movies however sometimes feels like a special event, not because of all the special effects and the magic on screen but down to the price that we pay to watch them. If we visit the cinema we have to pay around ?10 for one single ticket. To watch movies on satellite TV we need to upgrade our package and that can cost ?55 a month. All of these options are very expensive, however there is something that will save you money while allowing you to watch as many movies as you would like.

This something is called internet movie rental. The basic concept is you pay a small monthly fee which is around ?13 and you can then watch as many movies as you would like. When I first heard of this service I was dubious, I decided to try it out though because a friend of mine swore how well it worked.

The reason why I am writing this article is to tell you how well it works. I had never heard of internet movie rental until I was told about it so I am guessing the word has not spread that far about this excellent service. If you are wondering how it works then it is pretty simple. You sign up to one of the UK’s leading movie rental companies and within minutes you have access to over 100,000 movies. You then select which movie you would like to see and they are then sent to you in the post.

These movies take around 1 to 2 days to reach you and when they do you can keep them as long as you would like without having to worry about late fees. Even if you only watch 3 movies a month this service will save you hundreds of pounds a year.

Amazon Instant Video: Everything You Need to Know

Being able to watch movies from the Internet is a convenience most welcome. This eliminates the need for you to go to video rental stores, having to return the videos on time, and paying for late fees. When you watch a movie on the Internet, you can simply go to the web site again and again and have it streamed. However, some may find this tedious and boring. If you want to watch and at the same time own the videos you have downloaded on your personal computer, then you should get the Amazon Instant Video service. This service has many perks and privileges for its customers, which can only serve to enhance your viewing experience.

First off, why should you get the instant video service? You can always watch movies from other web sites right? The thing about watching movies from other web sites is that there are a certain number of minutes you can watch from that site. Most of these free streaming web sites usually have 60 or 72-minute caps for each URL trying to watch from them. So if you were going to watch a movie that lasts more than an hour – like The Godfather for example – you wouldn’t get to the point where Sonny gets killed. Amazon Instant Video service offers you something more convenient. After you’ve downloaded the movie for the first time, it’ll be right there on your hard disk. Their movie collection consists of 5,000 titles so you’ll surely find a movie you love in their archive. If you want to watch TV series, you can download whole seasons. And if you don’t have a big enough monitor, all you need to do is plug your PC into your HDTV then you will have yourself instant movie bonding time with your family. Another thing; if you don’t like waiting for the download to finish, you won’t have to since Amazon’s video service allows you to watch a movie or TV episode while it’s being downloaded to your computer.

If you’re an Amazon Prime member, you’ll be able to get the movie service for free. With Amazon Instant Video, you’ll be able to save up to $17 with an annual subscription compared to other streaming services. If you aren’t a Prime member, you’ll probably want to sign-up because aside from the free videos, you’ll also get free shipping whenever you buy something from Amazon.

So, if you want to enjoy movies at a click of a button while in the comfort of your own home, get the Amazon Instant Video service. With their great prices and huge collection of titles, you’ll surely love spending your time watching movies with your family or friends.
